It is like a cattle auction with no auctioneer through the customs. An occasional disgruntled employee yells at people to form a single line. I got through every country with my favorite moisturizer and they made me throw it away here. 🙁 sniff. He said Houston was #5 in the world and that is why. I’m not sure what the #5 is….#5 in heat, #5 in confusion, #5 in canceled flights, and my own personal opinion is #1 in gate changes without notification causing much running from passengers from one terminal to another.
So I arrive to look at my ticket and see that I’m boarding the plane an hour after I’m supposed to arrive home….why? Well I guess there isn’t a huge rush for folks wanting to go to Amarillo this fine Sunday, so they just canceled my flight without telling me, just reissued a boarding pass for the new time.
I’ll get home eventually but now it will be after the kids should be in bed.
I had a great flight, and slept a lot so I’m not really too tired yet, but my feet hurt. I went to sleep with my shoes on and my feet are so sore in them. If I take them off now, I don’t know if I will get them back on!! Note to self, pack flip flops in carry on.
Guess what the first thing I did was? I went to Schlotsky’s and got a giant diet coke (with ice) and drank that and refilled it again! Ahhhhhhh I’m home. That was really the only thing besides my family I truly missed on my trip.
Yesterday I told Eszter that I could truly be European…I was used to drinking cold coffee and hot water!
welcome home lori! glad you had a safe trip and i can’t wait to hear all about it 🙂
sleep well tonight . . .
Thanks so much I’ll be posting up more this week!!! Just trying to get re-adjusted and now back to work!
