I couldn’t come here and not buy coffee!!! I saw coffee growing in the fields, and one of the orphanages has coffee crops planted for for their village micro-economics plan.
I live for coffee every morning lately and I heard of an amazing coffee house here which I’m told is one of the only places to get a decent cup of coffee. If in Kampala a must visit is 1000 Cups. I’m so glad I went and they packaged up all my coffee in the greatest bags and even gave me a tote to carry it in. I even bought “spiced coffee” which smells heavenly with some cardamom and cloves and ginger coffee guaranteed to awaken and arouse LOL I paid only 10,000 UGS which is about 5.00 USD for huge bags of beans. I can’t wait to try it at home! My whole bedroom has the deep dark earthy aroma of wonderful coffee. I might break it open and try a bean or two. I’m like a kid in a candy store.
This is the Ugandan dream right here folks, lets hope that there are other very successful entrepreneurs to follow! Now….for that cup o’joe….
ohhh, emmanuel would be so jealous! he’s the coffee drinker around here, but that spiced blend sounds pretty fabulous. personally, i usually need a diet pepsi to awaken and arouse me. ha!
I will let you know how they all are, and I will probably have to get coffee connections to get more when this runs out haha
How wonderful~ This man followed his dream!1000 cups is like starbucks, w/o wifi! I am so happy for this gentleman! I am happy to see the President come to his cafe and taste his coffe! I pray that his business grows to other parts of Africa! Lori, when your coffe bag is empty, you should frame it and put it in your kitchen! art! what a neat video!~:)
I am not sure but I think there might be wifi there because I saw a guy on his laptop. The first thing I’m going to do when I get home is have a cup! I can’t wait! All my clothes will smell like coffee!
